 INTRODUCTION

          The Research and Development (R&D) Policy of MKSSS’s Sitabai Nargundkar College of Nursing for Women, Nagpur is designed to foster a vibrant culture of research, innovation, and scholarly excellence among faculty members and students. In alignment with the vision of Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS) and the college’s mission of nurturing competent nursing professionals. 

AIMS

  • To strengthen scientific inquiry and evidence-based nursing practice. 

OBJECTIVES OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT POLICY

  1. To promote a research culture among faculty and students. 

  2. To encourage innovation in nursing education and clinical practice. 

  3. To strengthen evidence-based healthcare delivery. 

  4. To support ethical and quality research studies. 

  5. To enhance publication, patents, and scholarly dissemination. 

  6. To develop future nurse researchers and academic leaders. 

THE POLICY PROMOTES 

  • Systematic research activities, academic development, and innovative healthcare solutions in the fields of nursing education, clinical practice, and community health. 

  • It encourages faculty and students to actively participate in research projects, dissertations, thesis work, surveys, clinical trials, community-based studies, and interdisciplinary collaborative research.

       The policy emphasizes the integration of research findings into nursing education and clinical practice to improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes. Faculty members are encouraged to undertake studies related to patient safety, maternal and child health, community health nursing, nursing administration, and evidence-based clinical interventions.

        A strong focus is placed on ethical conduct of research, ensuring that all studies involving human participants are reviewed and approved by the Institutional Ethical Committee before implementation. This ensures adherence to ethical standards, informed consent, confidentiality, and academic integrity. 

             The R&D Policy also promotes publication of research articles in peer-reviewed journals, presentation of papers at national and international conferences, and dissemination of innovative practices in healthcare and nursing education.

         Through this policy, the college aims to create a robust academic environment that develops competent nurse researchers, educators, innovators, and healthcare leaders who contribute significantly to the advancement of nursing science and society.
