Child Health Nursing Department

After completion of the Child Health Nursing course, students will be able to:

  • Assess the growth and development of infants, children, and adolescents accurately.

  • Apply nursing process in providing holistic care to pediatric patients in various healthcare settings.

  • Demonstrate competency in newborn and neonatal nursing care including essential newborn care.

  • Provide nursing care for common pediatric medical and surgical conditions.

  • Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments safely in pediatric patients.

  • Perform pediatric nursing procedures effectively in hospital and community settings.

  • Promote health education for parents regarding child nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.

  • Identify and manage pediatric emergencies and critically ill children effectively.

  •  Collaborate with healthcare teams in providing family-centered pediatric care.

  • Exhibit professional ethics, empathy, and responsibility in caring for children.
