1. Mental Health Nursing – I
Placement: Semester V
Credits: 4 Credits
Course Description
This course develops a basic understanding of the principles and standards of mental health nursing and prepares students to apply the nursing process in the assessment and care of patients with mental health disorders.

2. Mental Health Nursing – II
Placement: Semester VI
Credits: 3 Credits
Course Description
This course provides knowledge and skills to manage psychiatric emergencies, community mental health problems, and rehabilitation of individuals with mental illness.

Nursing management of substance use disorders
Personality disorders and sexual disorders
Childhood and adolescent psychiatric disorders
Organic brain disorders (Delirium, Dementia, Amnestic disorders)
Psychiatric emergencies and crisis intervention
Legal aspects of mental health care (including Mental Healthcare Act)
Community Mental Health Nursing
Mental health services and rehabilitation
Mental health care for special populations
