  INTRODUCTION

               The Research and Innovation Cell of MKSSS’s Sitabai Nargundkar College of Nursing for Women, Nagpur functions as a dynamic platform dedicated to promoting a culture of scientific inquiry, evidence-based practice, and academic excellence among faculty and students. The college, established under the prestigious Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS), is committed to empowering women through quality nursing education and professional development. 

AIMS:-

  • To foster research aptitude, critical thinking, creativity, and innovation in the field of nursing and healthcare sciences. 

  • It encourages students and faculty members to undertake research projects, dissertation work, evidence-based clinical studies, community health research, and interdisciplinary collaborative studies that contribute to improving patient care and healthcare outcomes.

OBJECTIVES OF THE RESEARCH AND INNOVATION CELL: -

  1. To promote a research-oriented culture among faculty and students by encouraging scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and evidence-based nursing practice. 

  2. To enhance research competencies in nursing and allied health sciences through workshops, seminars, training programmes, and faculty development activities. 

  3. To encourage undergraduate and postgraduate students to undertake research projects, dissertation work, and scholarly activities relevant to nursing education and healthcare services. 

  4. To facilitate innovative practices in clinical nursing, community health, patient care, and nursing education. 

  5. To support publication and dissemination of research findings through presentations, journals, conferences, seminars, and scientific forums at national and international levels. 

  6. To promote interdisciplinary and collaborative research with healthcare institutions, universities, and professional organizations. 

  7. To ensure ethical conduct in research by guiding researchers on ethical principles, informed consent, plagiarism prevention, and Institutional Ethics Committee approval. 

  8. To strengthen evidence-based clinical decision-making through the use of current research findings and best practices in nursing care. 

  9. To encourage quality improvement projects and innovation aimed at enhancing patient safety and healthcare outcomes. 

  10. To develop future nurse researchers, academicians, and leaders capable of contributing to the advancement of nursing science and healthcare delivery systems.

  • The cell plays a significant role in guiding postgraduate nursing students in their thesis, dissertation, and scholarly projects, ensuring scientific rigor and ethical standards.

  •  The institution also highlights the presence of an Institutional Ethical Committee, supporting ethical conduct of research studies. 

              Through its continuous efforts, the Research and Innovation Cell strives to develop competent nurse researchers, future educators, and healthcare leaders who contribute meaningfully to the advancement of nursing science and healthcare services.
